The next key to success is a manager. No matter who you are, trust everyone feels that their music is better than the next. Unless you have someone other than yourself pushing as hard as you and feeling the same as you, it's just blowing hot air.

You living in a time where people paying to perform just to post and say they're doing more than the next. Honestly if you have 10 people that's willing to pay to see you perform, get 5 other artists similar to your stats. Now, that's 50 plus people's willing to pay and see you and the others perform. With that, you can get in basically anywhere locally and perform with little to no effort.

If your mouth piece good enough you can also get a tab and at least 25% of the door. After a few successful shows, now you're getting paid 75-100% of the door, cause truth be told they get theirs off the bar.

Its basically impossible to get a venue on weekends, cause hey its the weekend and people gone show up regardless. Doing the weekday or even on Sundays, you will be able to get any venue to host your event, cause they're dead doing them times and its not causing them any money to let you make them money. Its free promotion and a way to get more people to their spot. Lets be real, just 10 paying people drinking and having fun is a plus for any bar place.

There's plenty more to the game to gain success in what you do, but these few pointers will be the main focus to a quick and successful start in the music industry. Keep in mind, that plenty of people that been doing it before you in your city will hate you the most. In their eyes you cant make it before them. They will smile in your face and lie to promoters behind your back. They will also tell their lil fan base not to fool with you on some pick and choose type stuff. They will convince producers not to record you etc.

At the end its all about money so long as you handle the 1st two keys to success they hatred could phase you not. Don't forget we living in a great time for music rather you think it or not. You can shoot a video with your phone and get millions of views and start getting paid. You can record with your iPhone and get good quality vocals, good enough for some of this mumble crap out now anyways. So cheer up, independent artist are breaking through more now than ever.
